Faq – Salty Feet Adventures

How many people are allowed on my adventure?

Currently we are able to take out up to 6 people. Note that children, no matter their age, count as a passenger.

Can children go on the tour?

Yes! Children of any age are permitted if accompanied by an adult. Please note that all children 12 and under are required, by law, to wear a personal flotation device (aka life jacket) while the boat is in motion. Salty Feet Adventures will provide life jackets for all passengers.

Can we bring our dog with us?

Yes, absolutely! We love dogs on The Sandbar Hunter. Dogs are not permitted to be on the seat cushions and must remain on the deck (floor) of the boat. Please bring a leash for the boat ride and a doggie life vest if desired. We will provide a dog bowl for water and bags to clean up after your dog on the beach.

What will be provided for my Adventure?

A fun Captain that will provide you with an experience you will never forget!
Life jackets for adults and children
75 qt cooler stocked with ice and bottled water
Shibumi shade for relaxing on the sandbars
Paddle boards for adventures that include them
Fuel for the boat is included for all adventures

What should we bring for our Adventure?

Salt Sun and Fun
Sunscreen
Towels
Beach chairs if desired
Our 75 qt cooler is stocked with ice and waters. If you have other food or beverages, you are welcome to store them in the cooler as well.

Are we allowed to bring Alcohol?

Yes! Alcoholic beverages are permitted for passengers over 21 with valid ID. Please drink responsibly as the Captain reserves the right to end the adventure early for inappropriate behavior.

Where will we board the boat?

We offer two convenient pickup locations where you can start your adventure:

Wrightsville Beach: The public boat ramp located at 109 Causeway Drive, Wrightsville Beach, NC (under the draw bridge)
Topsail Island: The public boat ramp located at 517 Roland Avenue, Surf City, NC (under the high-rise bridge)

For alternate pickup or drop-off locations (including your own dock) please send us a text and we can discuss options!

What kind of boat will we be on?

sandbar

Your tour will take place on a 21’ commercial Carolina Skiff named Sandbar Hunter. It features a powerful outboard motor with low draft – perfect for exploring our shallow water sandbars. A rear mounted helm allows for group seating at the front of the boat. You can relax on 16’ of cushioned bench seating and enjoy spectacular views with your group surrounding you.
In addition, Sandbar Hunter has a Bluetooth Fusion marine radio with powerful Sony speakers for our playlist or yours. A well-stocked 75 qt cooler of ice and bottled water also has enough room for your provisions.

How will we receive a reservation confirmation?

All of our bookings are handled through our website using software called Fare Harbor, the world’s largest tour and activity booking company. Once you make a reservation for your private boat tour, you will receive an email from info@mysaltyfeet.com.

Do we need to sign a waiver?

All passengers are required to sign a waiver. A link to the waiver is included in the confirmation email. The person booking the tour should forward this link to all participants.

What if the weather is bad?

Your adventure will take place rain or shine. Our Captains will use their experience and judgement to navigate away from or around any potential bad weather. Safety is our priority so there may be times that we need to cancel or reschedule due to weather such as lighting, high winds or tropical conditions. Please see below for more information about our cancellation policy.

Cancellation Policy

For cancellations initiated by you more than 72 hours before a charter, you will receive a full refund.
For cancellations within 72 hours of a scheduled charter, your adventure will be rescheduled to another date
Cancellations initiated by Salty Feet Adventures due to extreme weather (lightning, excessive winds or tropical systems/hurricanes) will be rescheduled to another date.
If we initiate the cancellation for a reason other than extreme weather, you will receive a full refund.
